The Local Art Economy
Where local artists meet local collectors.
In galleries, a red dot beside a piece of art means one thing: sold. The Local Art Economy exists to put more red dots on local art.

About the show
Across Appalachia, local art hangs on the walls of breweries, wineries, restaurants and shops. Too often it comes back down unsold. Displaying art is a good start, but artists also need buyers, and communities need collectors.
Hosted by photographic artist Yevette Lynn, the show helps artists treat their work as a business, and helps collectors and future collectors find local artists and buy with confidence. Art is attainable at every budget.
Recurring segments: Artist Spotlight, Collector Spotlight and Where to Find Art.
Episodes
Ep. 01 | The Elephant in the Room: Artists, Free Gigs and Knowing Your Value, with Maurice Butler
Maurice Butler, The Vibe Architect, joins Yevette to talk about unpaid gigs, valuing creative work, and how artists can donate on their own terms.

Partner with the show
The Local Art Economy reaches artists, collectors and the businesses that support them across Appalachia. Partnerships are offered to a small number of businesses that believe local art belongs on local walls: galleries, framers, art suppliers, interior designers, venues and the businesses that hang local work.
Episode partner. A brief spoken thank-you at the opening of one episode, a line and link in that episode's show notes, and a listing on this page while the episode is current.
Season partner. The same recognition across a full season of episodes, with your business named on this page for the season.
Segment partner. A standing association with one recurring segment, such as Where to Find Art, for venues and businesses that show local work.
Every partner is chosen for fit with the show's purpose. Partner mentions are always identified as such, and partners do not shape the conversation.
