Behind a Considered Portrait Experience
When I take on a new client, the process is deliberate.
Not everyone is a fit.
That is by design.
My work is for people who value intention, presence, and long-term impact. If you are looking for simple image delivery with no guidance or structure, I am not the right photographer for you.
Make it stand out.
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story can make all the difference.
Initial Contact
Qualifying the Work
Every project begins with a conversation.
Before anything is scheduled, I ask a series of qualifying questions. These help establish clarity, alignment, and expectations on both sides.
Who is the subject?
What is being communicated?
What matters most in this work?
How will the images be used?
Is there an established investment range?
Have you worked with a professional photographer before?
There are no right answers.
But there is a right mindset.
This initial exchange allows me to understand your vision and determine whether we should move forward together.
Investment & Alignment
Professional photography is an investment.
Clients are encouraged to research pricing and understand the level of service they are seeking. My pricing for core offerings is published on my website. Custom projects are quoted individually based on scope and usage.
Style matters.
Every photographer has a point of view.
Knowing what you want the images to communicate—and where they will live—ensures the work serves its purpose long after the session is complete.
Design Meeting
Direction Before Execution
Once alignment is established, we schedule a Design Meeting.
A $175 retainer is required.
This amount is applied toward your final investment.
Design Meetings are held in person at my studio or via video when distance requires it. This meeting is essential for all full sessions.
During this time, we refine details, establish direction, and set expectations. Wardrobe, visual tone, and final deliverables are discussed. We also schedule the session and your Reveal Meeting.
This step ensures clarity before the camera is ever raised.
Session Day
On the day of the session, preparation matters.
You’ll arrive ready, grounded, and supported. Direction is clear. The environment is intentional. The experience is focused.
The goal is not performance.
It is presence.
Reveal Meeting
After the session, you’ll view your images for the first time during your Reveal Meeting.
Final selections are made here.
Retouching, prints, albums, and artwork are discussed.
An online gallery is provided for continued access and ordering.
This is why clarity around investment matters early. Seeing the finished work often refines priorities.
Final Thoughts
This process is structured for a reason.
It allows for consistency, depth, and work that feels finished. It is not designed to be fast or casual.
That is intentional.
If this approach aligns with how you value your image and presence, I look forward to working together.
If not, that is perfectly fine.
The process is intentional. The results reflect that.
